The dialogue of religious leaders should give an example to all believers, Chief Rabbi of Russia Berl Lazar said at a RIA Novosti roundtable on inter-confessional relations on Monday.
"Current relations between the spiritual leaders in Russia are a good sign and example for ordinary believers," he noted.
"Seeing the developments in the Middle East and Iraq, we should carry out preventive work to let people see the values, which are uniting us," Berl Lazar stressed.
According to him, the inter-religious dialogue exists in most western countries, which have problems of confessions and lawmakers. For instance, France prohibits believers wear traditional clothes and sees the uprising of Anti-Semitism.
Religious leaders should teach people kindness and help Russian society and state to solve social, economic and educational problems, chief rabbi said.
