The net income of Norilsk Nickel as of the fourth quarter of 2003 increased by 15.13 percent against the third quarter of 2003, and reached 9.5bn rubles (about $333m), the company reported. The financial indicators gross growth was reached thanks to a nonferrous and precious metals price increase in the fourth quarter of 2003.
According to a November 2003 forecast, Norilsk Nickel was planning to receive a consolidated net profit of 32.1bn rubles (about $1.1bn), which is five times higher than 2002 indicators. The sales volumes were planned at 137.4bn rubles (about $4.8bn).
