The Russian oil company LUKoil and the Iraqi oil ministry have signed a memorandum on understanding and cooperation, LUKoil head Vaghit Alekperov declared today at a news conference in Baghdad, Iraq. This document was signed after negotiations of Alekperov and the Iraqi oil minister. "The talks testify to the strengthening of the company's positions in Iraq and another important stage in the system of complex measures aimed at reestablishing LUKoil activities in the country," Alekperov noted, Rossiya (Russia) television reported.
