Forged website of Russian Office of Public Prosecutor.

Russian Office of Public Prosecutor can file an action in a US court to stop operation of the “forged” website using symbols of Office of Public prosecutor.

”Today the investigation of the criminal case of violating copyright and adjoining rights (article of 146 of Russian Criminal Code) is in progress”, said director of Administration for Information and Public Relations of Russian Office of Public Prosecutor Natalia Vishnyakova.

She reminded that in the end of September of 2003 so-called “forged website” using symbols of the Office of Public Prosecutor was launched. This website is registered in the USA and its server is there as well. "We still have not receive response from the USA – who registered the website and how the services of its maintaining are paid", Ms. Veshnyakova said. According to her, the deadline for investigating this case has been extended and currently there is an exchange of correspondence between Russian and US law-enforcers.

Official website of Russian Office of Public Prosecutor has been recently launched as well.
