The construction of projects in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area of Russia by the Kocak Insaat Ltd. firm of Turkey was halted till the causes of the tragedy which occurred in a Moscow water park on Saturday are cleared up. RIA Novosti was told about this in the administration of this Russian region situated in Eastern Siberia.
The Turkish company is building a theater-concert center and housing facilities in the area's main city, Khanty-Mansiisk. It is planned to build also such a water park as in Moscow here but the construction has not begun yet. According to director of the construction department of the area administration Georgy Natalushi, the fate of this project will be determined after the investigation into the causes of the disaster in Moscow is completed.
Characterizing the Turkish company's activity in the area, the department head said: "It is a serious firm which has serious equipment. Maybe, it is not to blame for what happened in Moscow."
