Ivan Rybkin has not applied to the Central Election Commission (CEC) to remove his candidature from the list of presidential candidates at the March 14 elections, RIA Novosti was told by CEC member Yelena Dubrovina.
"The Central Election Commission has not received any applications of this kind from Rybkin," she said.
Yesterday, having returned to Moscow from Kiev, Ivan Rybkin told reporters that possibly he would refuse further participation in the presidential race.
Rybkin spend four days in Kiev having not informed about his whereabouts either his family or his election headquarters. According to him, he spent these days at his Kiev friends.
On Sunday, the militia, on the basis of his wife's application in connection with the disappearance of the presidential candidate, launched a search case.
