Security forces in Saint Petersburg are taking precautionary measures in light of yesterday's tragic events on the Moscow underground. As Rosbalt was informed by the regional department of the Russian Interior Ministry, the police are now on patrol in greater numbers and they are now keeping closer surveillance over Underground stations and other vital facilities such as railway stations, airports and ports.
All Underground stations are being checked by specialists with specially trained search dogs. Other precautionary steps are also being taken including a careful check on the train carriages.
Ministerial staff have asked the city's residents to be patient and understanding about the necessity of such measures.
