All Russian stock exchanges should have an opportunity to trade Gazprom shares, Igor Kostikov, Chairman of the Federation Securities Commission, said at a press conference organized by RBC. In his opinion, it is not normal that the shares of one of Russia's largest issuers could only be traded on four stock exchanges. According to Kostikov, measures to liberalize the Gazprom share market were considered by a presidential commission. Gazprom itself should be active as well, he added.
Today, only the Moscow Stock Exchange, the Yekaterinburg Stock Exchange, the Siberian Stock Exchange and the St. Petersburg Stock Exchange have the right to trade Gazprom shares. Last week, the Federation Securities Commission revoked a license from the Siberian Stock Exchange. Gazprom shares are almost not traded on the Moscow Stock Exchange and the Yekaterinburg Stock Exchange.
