Investigation against Gazprom starts

The Russian Anti-Monopoly Ministry has initiated investigation against Gazprom, the Federal Energy Commission and Mezhregiongaz (Gazprom's subsidiary), the ministry reported.

The case has been initiated because of violations of anti-monopoly legislation and it is based on appeals of gas distributing enterprises in the Astrakhan, Rostov and Krasnodar regions.

The case will be considered on January 15, 2004.
