Communists to inform authorities about violations during elections

Next week, the Communist Party of Russia will submit data on violations committed during the course of the parliamentary elections to the Central Election Commission (CEC) and the General Prosecutor's Office, according to Gennady Zyuganov, the leader of the party. He reiterated that now the party was in the process of tallying up votes independently. There are certain territories where the voting and the vote count involved serious violations, the politician specified.

CEC Chairman Alexander Veshnyakov said, in his turn, that any data on violations and discrepancies should be submitted to a corresponding commission, and not be brought onto the arena of politics. The official stressed that the CEC was willing to cooperate and ready to provide consultations on election legislation. "Every case should be addressed separately from a factual standpoint, and one should not be too keen on making political allegations", Veshnyakov said.

According to Zyuganov, new members of the Duma will not improve the quality of its work. He believes "the Duma is turning into a police station with all related consequences ensuing". The politician also reported he would not strive for managing positions in the Duma committees. "We should intensify our work and concentrate entirely on specific regions, districts and companies", Zyuganov pointed out.
