Preparations for the parliamentary elections are at a final stage, Russian Central Election Commission (CEC) Chairman Alexander Veshnyakov announced at his meeting with a delegation of international observers to attend the upcoming parliamentary elections. According to him, local election commissions have the ballot papers ready, and now polling stations are being prepared.
Veshnyakov said that only 23 political parties were entitled to participate in the election campaign. The CEC has not received any complaints regarding the registration of candidates as yet.
Preliminary election results will be made public on December 8 in the morning, and official results should be released before December 22, the official spelled out.
