Putin: Free trade zone - milestone of Russia-EU cooperation

The main milestone of Russia-EU cooperation is the formation of a free trade zone, said President Vladimir Putin.

"I deem it important to discuss the formation of a new model of economic relations between Russia and the EU, which is in essence a model of the pan-European economic space involving Russia," said Russian President Vladimir Putin at his meeting with Russian and EU industrialists.

The formation of the free trade zone should include deep cooperation in specific priority sectors, noted the head of state.

In his words, these sectors are above all energy and transport, science and education, environment and telecommunications.
