Russia and the European Union will proceed with their efforts to facilitate visa issuing procedures. Such was the resolution of Tuesday's meeting between Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Chizhov and Richard Wright who heads the European Commission's mission in Russia.
As RIA Novosti was told at the Foreign Ministry's Information Department, both parties expressed willingness to continue working on facilitated visa regime for specific categories of travellers, along with the Russia-EU readmission agreement talks.
The two officials also exchanged opinions on the implementation of the decisions made at the Russia-EU summit, which took place in Rome on November 6, 2003. In particular, they discussed the term during which the Russia-EU Partnership and Co-operation Agreement would apply to the new EU members.
