Only efficient mechanisms of coordination may counteract the threat of terrorism, believes Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"The tragic events in Turkey have proved once again that international terrorism is not reducing its activities. It can strike in virtually every place of the world," Vladimir Putin announced at the ceremony of receiving credentials from ambassadors.
"Thus, we can really counteract this threat only creating efficient mechanisms of practical coordination," the Russian leader pointed out.
"A closer coordination of positions and actions of our state, an increased mutual trust are common interests of our nations," Putin emphasized. "Working together, we will be able to make the world more stable and secure".
"I want to confirm once again what I have repeatedly declared: we need unity in the fight against such threats and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, organized crime and drug trafficking," the President said.
"A very close cooperation is also required to solve other global problems, such as famine, mass epidemics, and environmental threats," he added.
Putin hopes that the high powers given to the ambassadors "will become an important support for coordinating the efforts of our countries and nations in fight against modern threats and challenges," he said.
"And we know well enough what these challenges are," the President added.
