Strategic shareholders of RAO UES are trying to adjust the structure of territorial energy generating companies to their interests, analysts of the United Financial Group said. On November 17 it was declared that the executive board of the energy holding had defined its basic position concerning territorial energy generating companies. It is planned to create about 16 to 17 territorial energy generating companies on the basis of electric power plants that are not to be included in wholesale energy generating companies. The planned capacity of every company is to be 2,000 megawatts at least.
According to the analysts, this position is a considerable step forward compared to previous initiatives that envisaged the creation of territorial energy generating companies with a 380-megawatt capacity. The analysts also noted that the final structure of territorial energy generating companies might be changed and RAO UES was ready to take into account interests of new strategic shareholders that included Evrazholding, the MDM Group, Bazovy Element and some oil and gas companies.
