Russian Foreign Minister on Russian-US economic priorities

The energy dialogue is a strategic field of Russian-US co-operation which does not depend on any momentary circumstances and where the business communities of the two countries are actively involved. Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov expressed this opinion at an international conference on Tuesday marking the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and the USA.

According to the minister, co-operation in this field "is graphically manifested from the viewpoint that the economies of the two countries can be mutually complementary".

"In connection with this, we attach great importance to the results of the second Russian-US business energy summit in St. Petersburg," said the minister.

In Ivanov's words, energy and high technologies are still the priorities of Russian-US economic co-operation. Apart from that, special attention is paid to co-operation in space and information technologies.
