Armenia is one of Russia's most dependable allies. As a Rosbalt correspondent was informed by the press office of the Armenian government, this was announced by Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Sergei Mironov, who is currently visiting Yerevan, at a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Andranik Markarian.
According to Mr Mironov, Russia intends to strengthen its ties with Armenia in all areas including political, military, economic, cultural and educational matters. He added that there are plans to organize a business forum in Moscow in 2004 where Armenia will be presented separately. He said that exhibitions and conferences at the forum would help create business ties.
Mr Markarian, in his turn, welcomed the closer ties that have developed between the two countries' governments and he called for even greater collaboration on a political level.
