Russian prime minister Mikhail Kasyanov declared that understandings with prime minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovich on the Azov-Kerch water area remains fundamental.
In this way Kasyanov commented on the report by some mass media that Ukraine does not observe the understandings concerning the Tuzla island reached at the Moscow negotiations last week.
"We trace the fulfilment of these decisions, and these understandings remain fundamental," Kasyanov stressed.
He also recalled that on the results of his talks with Yanukovich Ukraine has committed itself to withdraw border troops from the end part of the Tuzla spit, and Russia -- to stop building dams until a joint decision be made with Ukraine on the need to restore the central part of the Tuzla spit.
