A conflict between Aeroflot and Air Canada might be settled soon, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Boris Alyoshin told journalists commenting on Air Canada threats to impose sanctions against the Russian airline company because Russia had not permitted Air Canada to make transit flights to India via Russia. According to Alyoshin, this issue will be solved within government agreements. "There are no political hindrances to it," he stressed.
The deputy PM specified that the matter was that there was no name of the destination point of flights in a corresponding government agreement on transit flights. To settle this problem it is necessary just to introduce this point in the agreement, he noted. He added that the Russian Foreign and Transportation Ministries had already started solving this problem.
