The Chechen State Council's decision to proclaim the constituent Russian republic of Chechnya a free economic zone should be in line with the Russian Federation's legal and regulatory landscape, believes Russian Vice Premier Viktor Khristenko.
Speaking to a Moscow press conference Friday, Mr. Khristenko pointed out that "as Chechnya has fully integrated into the legal landscape of the Russian Federation, the formation of such regimes shall rest upon Russia's regulatory basis." "I hope things will happen in precisely this way," he said in conclusion.
