80% of Russians plan to vote in the upcoming presidential elections, according to a recent survey by the Agency for Regional Political Research, which was conducted from October 6 through October 12 in 100 cities and villages in 40 regions of the Russian Federation.
19% of respondents said they would not vote. On the question: 'If the presidential elections were held next Sunday, who would you vote for?' 70% of respondents said they would vote for Russian President Vladimir Putin. 18% could not decide. 5% would vote for Communist Gennady Zyuganov and 3% for Vladimir Zhirinovsky. 1500 people were surveyed in personal interviews at their residence.
