The Russian State Duma might consider the bill on currency regulations and currency control on its second reading in October 2003, State Duma Budget Committee Deputy Chairman Sergey Shtogrin told RBC. According to him, a meeting of the Duma's subcommittee charged with the preparations of this bill for debates will take place on September 22 to 23. In early October 2003 this document will be submitted to the Budget Committee. The deputy thinks that the bill might be adopted on its third and the final reading by the end of this fall session.
The bill was submitted to the Duma by the government in December 2002. The document is aimed at liberalizing currency legislation in Russia.
