US Naval pilots visit Saratov Aviation Plant

A delegation of the company NAVAIR (Naval Air Systems Command), representing US naval aviation, arrived at the Saratov Aviation Plant yesterday. The delegation is headed by NAVAIR Director John Fisher.

As a Rosbalt correspondent was informed by the regional committee for industry, science and technology, the aim of the visit is to assess any opportunities for collaborating with the Saratov Aviation Plant and other Russian producers of aviation technology. They also plan to discuss the latest designs in aerospace technology with specialists from the Russian plant.

The visit was organised by US congressman Kurt Weldon who visited the plant in January of this year. According to the regional committee, the US delegation struck up good relations with the management and engineers at the Russian plant. One of the US pilots was even invited to participate in the test flight of a Yak-42 plane.
