Naftogaz Ukrainy wants to explore fields in northern Africa and Middle East

The exploration and maintenance of oil and gas fields and the provision of services in Libya, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Algeria, Syria, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan, Iran and Iraq are the priorities of foreign activities of the Ukrainian national company Naftogaz Ukrainy. This statement was made yesterday at a meeting organized by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry devoted to foreign economic activities.

The acceleration of cooperation with countries of Central Asia envisages the signing of a long-term contract on supplies of Turkmen gas in the period from 2007 to 2031, the increase in supplies of Uzbekistani and Kazakhstani gas, the broadening of the company's participation in exploring fields in Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, the construction and modernization of pipelines and the implementation of investment projects in the oil and gas sector of these countries.
