All-round cooperation with Saudi Arabia falls in line with Russia's long-term geopolitical and trade and economic interests, a source in the Russian president's administration told RIA Novosti in view of a visit to Moscow by Prince Abdallah bin Abd al-Aziz al-Saud of Saudi Arabia.
Prince Abdallah is arriving in Moscow on Tuesday. He is scheduled to meet President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov, Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov, Ravvin Gainutdin, Chairman of the Council of Russia's Muftis and of the Spiritual Department of Moslems of European Russia, Archbishop Kliment of Kaluga and Borovsk, who is second in charge of the Foreign Church Relations Department of the Moscow Patriarchy.
Respect for each other's interests, the concurrence or closeness of approaches to a wide range of international and regional problems make the basis of partnership between Russia and Saudi Arabia, said the source.
"All-round cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is a major country of the Moslem world and an influential member of the Arab League, falls in line with Russia's long-term geopolitical and economic interests," emphasised the source.
