Russia is interested in switching to visa-free regime with European Union, according to Igor Ivanov, Russia's Foreign Ministry head who mentioned it again while speaking Monday to the students of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
"Creating future conditions for transferring towards visa-free regime of travel remains a special direction in our engagement with European Union ", said Igor Ivanov. He noted today that many of the young Russians know about the times of "iron curtain" existence only through hearsay. "We can not permit any new curtains - this time visa ones - on the path of the future generations of Europeans who want to create together a European home," Russian minister emphasised.
He also mentioned that Moscow is sincerely interested "in closest and mutually advantageous relations" with Eurounion, including the countries that joined it recently.
