Moscow expects the participants in the six-sided talks on North Korea (the first round was held last week in Beijing) to agree on the terms of their continuation, Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov said today.
According to him, even the fact itself that the talks on North Korea are held in Beijing is a great achievement.
The first round of the talks has become an important result of international community's joint efforts aimed at stabilisation in the Korean Peninsula, the foreign minister said.
"We didn't expect any breakthroughs, this is just the first round of the talks," the minister noted. According to him, "it is important that the dialogue has begun and will continue".
Russia comes out for further dialogue and search for mutually beneficial solutions to stabilise the situation in the peninsula. "I believe other negotiators share our positions," the Russian foreign minister said.
