International community should render assistance to Iraq, in particular, in security sphere, Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov told journalists today.
"The UN and international community's assistance is needed to help Iraq to overcome the aggravating crisis situation," the minister said.
"We are ready to consider these problems in the UN Security Council and in the context of wider political settlement," Ivanov noted.
It is necessary to solve these problems in a wider context of political settlement to let Iraq create stability in the country and form the authority institutes capable of assuming responsibility for further settlement, Ivanov said.
