The Russian Finance Ministry will submit proposals on money supply sterilization and exclusion of excessive strengthening of the ruble, Yury Zubarev, head of the PR department of the ministry, reported. "The proposals will be submitted to the moment and be considered by experts; no public discussion of this issue is expected", he said.
According to earlier reports, on August 21, the Russian government commissioned the Finance Ministry, the Economy Ministry and the State Statistics Committee in collaboration with the Russian Central Bank to scrutinize effects of the real ruble rate on Russia's GDP growth and to present proposals on levying additional incomes, sterilizing the money supply and hampering an excessive rise in the ruble rate.
