The Russian Prosecutor General's Office explained the causes of the reshuffles in the Moscow Prosecutor's Office. Let us recall that on Thursday the Collegium of the Prosecutor General's Office dismissed Moscow First Deputy Prosecutor Yuri Sinelshchikov; the Prosecutor of Moscow, Mikhail Avdyukov, was transferred to another post with a severe reprimand. All this was done after the Moscow Prosecutor's Office operation check.
As was stated today by spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General's Office Natalia Vishnyakova in the interview she gave to the governmental newspaper Rossiiskaya Gazeta, the check was conducted "in accordance with the plan, with nothing extraordinary in it." According to Vishnyakova, the First Deputy Prosecutor of Moscow was dismissed "for systematic failure to properly fulfil his duties - in particular, for his inability to ensure a due improvement in supervising preliminary investigation in the bodies of the Moscow Prosecutor's Office." The given decision took into consideration that earlier Sinelshchikov was already called to disciplinary account in connection with such things but he did not make due conclusions," said the spokeswoman for the Russian Prosecutor General's Office.
She underscored that four years ago, a similar check was carried out, and it found out "practically the same violations." However, "specific measures to improve the situation were not taken." More than that, at its Thursday sitting the Collegium "did not hear concrete proposals on how to introduce proper order in Moscow."
