RTS index adds 5.37% last week

The RTS index grew by 5.37 percent to 460.68 points in the period from July 21 to 25, 2003, the press service of the RTS stock exchange reported. The leaders of this advance were common shares of Sibneft that surged by 18.36 percent to $2.45 per share, common stocks of Norilsk Nickel that jumped by 15.76 percent to $36 and Mosenergo shares with a 14.36-percent gain to $0.0629 per share.

The total trade volume on the RTS classic stock market dropped by 40 percent to $26.326m last week, against $44.002m a week earlier. The average daily trade volume decreased from $8.8m to $5.265m.

The trade volume of RAO UES shares was the largest totaling $11.844m. LUKoil shares followed securities of the energy holding with a $3.467m trade volume. YUKOS shares were the third with $3.052m. The share of these securities in the structure of the trade volume was 44.99 percent, 13.17 percent and 11.59 percent respectively last week.
