Questions concerning the implementation of joint energy projects and utilization of Russian nuclear weapons will be considered during the upcoming visit of Japanese Foreign Minister Yoriko Kawaguchi to Russia, Alexander Yakovenko, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, told RBC. According to him, the visit scheduled for June 28 to 30 is aimed at strengthening and broadening relations between the Russian Far East and Japan.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Khristenko and Kawaguchi are expected to take part in a meeting of the Russian-Japanese commission for developing relations between the two countries. The Japanese minister will also meet with Russian Presidential Envoy in the Far East Federal District Konstantin Pulikovsky.
