A social protest against the illegal use of narcotics entitled Train to the Future will take place this fall in Russia, said Chairman of the Government Committee for the Control of the Illegal Use of Narcotics Viktor Cherkesov at a press conference on June 26. He said that participants in the social protest will travel across the country on a special train from Vladivostok to Moscow. Interactive seminars between parents and protest participants will take place in schools in cities along the train's route. Moreover, football, basketball and volleyball matches will also be organized.
Representatives of religious organizations, rehabilitation centers, funds and associations interested in the creation and maintenance of a healthy lifestyle will take part in the protest. In addition, many rock and pop stars of the Russian Estrada who will give concerts in the cities will also travel on the train. Cherkesov said the goal of the action was to attract the attention of Russian society to the serious threat of illegal narcotics use for the future of the nation.
