The Board of Directors of RAO UES of Russia approved plans for reforms in the Orenburgenergo and Udmurtenergo companies, the RAO UES office for the management of joint-stock companies of the Ural region reported today. Initially, projects of reforms in regional power utilities are considered by the RAO UES Executive Board, and after that, they must be reviewed by minor shareholders. As minor shareholders approve the projects, they are submitted to a special commission of the Russian government, and the final decision is made by the RAO UES Board of Directors.
In total, the holding company's Board of Directors approved 11 plans for reforms in regional energy companies. Forty-three plans, prepared by regional power utilities, have been approved by the RAO UES Executive Board. The Russian government's commission for reforms in the electrical power industry has approved 42 plans.
