Russian Premier Mikhail Kasyanov is against any amendments to the Russian Constitution.
"As a citizen I believe that it is dangerous and harmful to change anything in the Constitution," the Premier stated in the State Duma in response to the proposal of the leader of the Union of the Right-Wing Forces, Boris Nemtsov, to unite the posts of the Russian President and Chairman of the Government. Kasyanov pointed out that the issue must be publicly discussed.
The Premier stressed that both the President and the Premier must work in full harmony. "Such harmony would make it possible to stabilise the situation in the country, expanding the economic growth and improving its social constituent. I believe that both the future President and the government will work in friendship and harmony with all power branches," the Russian Premier assured.
