Customs tariff rates on used foreign cars to be equal for all?

At present the staff of the Russian government is considering a project of unifying customs tariff rates on used foreign cars for individuals and legal entities, Russian Deputy Minister for Industry, Science and Technology Sergei Mitin announced.

"The ministry submitted the project to the government after considering it at the session of the committee for protective measures in foreign trade," he said.

The document envisages unification of import duties on used cars for legal entities and individuals, which will increase the cost of imported cars, according to experts' estimates.

The document has not been returned to the ministry, Mitin emphasized. "At present it is in the government staff and will be considered there," he pointed out.
