According to Deputy Justice Minister Yuri Kalinin, close on 150 people will be amnestied under the Chechen constitution.
Those who did not participate in terrorist acts or committed any grave or especially grave crimes, i.e. about 150 people, will be liable to the amnesty, Kalinin said.
According to him, some 30 people are now in prison and close on 120 in detention centres.
The Duma resolution on the amnesty took effect on June 7th.
The military servicemen, who committed socially dangerous crimes in the period from December 12nd, 1993 to the day of the resolution's introduction into force are also liable to the amnesty, according to the text of the resolution.
