Most Russians (54%) are convinced that the situation in Chechnya will not improve in the near future. This is the result of a survey of 1500 Russians over the age of 18 carried out by the Public Opinion fund. Only 25% of respondents said they felt the situation could be improved in the near future. Moreover, 52% do not believe that the situation in Chechnya has changed at all recently and only one quarter of respondents believe the situation is already improving.
