The third junior Delphian Games of Russia are opening in Volgograd (an administrative centre in the south of Russia) on Friday. Over 1,500 young men and women from 69 regions of the country (all in all, the regions number 89) will for the first time gather in Fallen Fighters' Square of Volgograd.
For three days they will compete in the city on the Volga in their skill in eighteen nominations, among them the "piano", "journalism", "photography", "web-design" and "theatre". Well-known artists, directors and theatre figures of the country will estimate the competitions.
Today competitions in the forum of art are not less popular than sports competitions. Well-known politicians and statesmen of Russia, among them speaker of the upper chamber of the Russian parliament Sergei Mironov, have arrived in Volgograd to have a look at the young talents.
The Delphian Games will last till May 20.
