The forecasted growth in oil reserves of the C1 and C2 categories will amount to 400m tons and some 380m tons of the C3 category in Russia in 2003; gas reserves are expected to advance by 900bn cubic meters, Rinat Murzin, the head of the fuel and energy reserves department of the Russian Natural Resources Ministry, declared at a meeting in the ministry. In particular, in Western Siberia oil reserves are to add 275m tons, in Eastern Siberia about 90m tons. Gas reserves to grow by 605bn cubic meters in Western Siberia, by 150bn cubic meters on the continental shelf.
Mursin also declared that in 2002 oil reserves added 279m tons, gas reserves increased by 963bn cubic meters.
