Problems of the SARS spread will be considered on the sidelines of the international symposium "Raising Readiness for Flu Pandemic on the Basis of Military and Civil Co-operation" to be held in St. Pete May 9-11.
According to Oleg Kiselev, head of the flu research institute under the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (RAMN), the World Health Organisation (WHO), NATO, RAMN, the North-Western RAMN Department, the RAMN flu research institute and the Kirov Military and Medical Academy.
The symposium is aimed to unite military and civil resources in their fight against infectious diseases. Over 60 experts from all over the world will participate in the event.
Originally, there were plans to devote the symposium to the flu, but due to the current grave situation in the world, the SARS problem will come central to the discussion, said Oleg Kiselev.
