First Patient Goes Down with Non-Typical Pneumonia in Russia

A patient has been brought to hospital directly from Vladivostok airport, his case possibly being the first one of non-typical pneumonia registered in Russia. The man is a Russian citizen who has just flown in from China.

According to the information of the Primorye Territorial Centre for Sanitary-Epidemiological Control, he has been immediately taken to the nearest infectious diseases hospital in the town of Artyom. He had a fever and other signs characteristic of the non-typical pneumonia. A medical team of the Primotye Centre for Emergency Medicine immediately appeared in Artyom, which is 45 kilometres off Vladivostok. They have made all the necessary tests, taking the samples to the Territorial Sanitary-Epidemiological Control Centre, where they will be thoroughly studied. It was found out that the patient had spent a month in China where he had apparently caught the non-typical pneumonia virus, as the Chinese doctors suggested.

He was then forcedly discharged from hospital in China and put on a regular plane to Vladivostok.
