Introduction of single currency in Russia and Belarus to have no impact on inflation

State Secretary of the Russia-Belarus Union Pavel Borodin thinks that the introduction of the single currency will not have an impact on inflation growth in Russia. He voiced this position at a press conference organized by RBC today. Borodin believes that the introduction of the ruble as a single currency, on the contrary, will boost financial flows between the two countries. The State Secretary recalled that the introduction of the single currency was scheduled for January 2004. He suggested that the introduction of the ruble as a single currency should be conducted taking into account experience and rules used for the euro introduction in the European Union.
