On Tuesday the Almaz Ship-Building Firm, based in St.Petersburg, launched a second Svetliak patrol boat built for Vietnam.
The firm's press service reports that the first boat was launched on July 17 and is now being prepared for factory trials.
Svetliak patrol boats have been designed by the Central Marine Design Bureau Almaz in St.Petersburg. They are intended for protection of the sea state borders, control of economic zone observance, ensurance of protection of natural resources, as well as protection of coastal communications, ships and man-made structures. The patrol boat has two artillery mounts and 16 portable anti-aircraft missile systems Igla-1M.
