Britannia Field Restarts Production

Production from the Britannia field in the U.K. North Sea was restarted Friday, according to a spokeswoman for ChevronTexaco, the operator of the platform. The field, jointly operated by ChevronTexaco and Conoco Inc., will reach full production "within the next few days," spokeswoman Laura Easton said. She was unable to provide a more specific estimate. "We're still working on the (power) generators. It's still wait and see," she said.

The field has been shut in since July 8 , when a power generator exploded. Before the shutdown, Britannia was producing 700 million standard cubic feet of gas and roughly 31,000 barrels of condensate a day.
