The leaders of the Russian-Polish Intergovernmental Commission, Russian Transport Minister Sergey Frank and Polish Deputy Prime Minister Marek Pol, signed an agreement today in Kaliningrad on the opening of a regular air route from Kaliningrad to Warsaw.
The flight operator will be the Polish company LOT, which will from May 15 carry out trial flights along this route. It is replacing the Scandinavian airline SAS, which last autumn ceased to run flights between Kaliningrad and Copenhagen because of their unprofitability.
The Italian-French ATR-42 aircraft will be serving the new route, with 46 economy and business class seats. The flight to Warsaw will take just over an hour compared to eight and a half hours on the bus. The average ticket price will be around USD 180.
