Russian experts help put to operation new Vietnamese gas pipeline

The Petro Vietnam oil and gas corporation has put to operation a new 47-kilometre underwater gas pipeline.

The pipeline was constructed by Vietnamese specialists with the help of Russian experts from the Russo-Vietnamese Vietsovpetro joint venture.

The pipeline has been designed to transport associated gas produced by the Vietnamese-Japanese joint venture at the Aurora deposit to the main pipeline belonging to the Russo-Vietnamese Vietsovpetro company. The latter transports gas to the Fumi-1 power plant and a gas refinery located in the Baria-Vung Tau province.

The price of the underwater pipeline's design and construction reached the level of about 50 mln. dollars.
