On the initiative of the city's Committee for External Relations, an international forum entitled St. Petersburg - Iberoamerica: Business Partnership 2002 will take place in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry on September 25-26. The event's main aim is to widen economic and scientific links between St. Petersburg and Spain, Portugal and Latin-American countries.
The forum's participants will include representatives of the business and financial circles of St. Petersburg, Moscow and the North-West Federal District, and entrepreneurs from Spain, Portugal and Latin-American states. The programme includes a plenary session, bilateral business meetings, and also a visit to the exhibition The Russian Industrialist - 2002 in the Lenexpo exhibition centre.
The forum is taking place with the support of the city's Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the St. Petersburg Iberoamerican Centre. Publicity support is being provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry for Economic Development and Trade, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the National Committee for Promoting Economic Cooperation with Latin-American Countries, and the Institute for Latin America of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
