Ulyanovsk Car Factory to open car assembly plant in Venezuela

The Ulyanovsk Car Factory (an open joint-stock company in the Volga Region) will open a car assembly plant in Venezuela. 500 cars are expected to be assembled at the plant by the end of this year.

As the Ulyanovsk factory's press-service reported to RIA Novosti, the project will be implemented in cooperation with the Venezuelan Aguamar Group.

The agreement on the creation of an assembly plant was reached during the talks with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez held late in May. At that time there was also an exhibition of the Ulyanovsk factory's products held in Caracas, the capital of the country.

According to the press service, would-be buyers were interested in UAZ-31514, UAZ-3153 and UAZ-39094 "farmer" cars.
