AvtoVAZ to launch assembly line in Egypt in July

The assembly line of VAZ-2107 from the spare parts supplied by AvtoVAZ, a Russian car maker, is expected to be launched in the outskirts of Cairo (Egypt) on July 20, 2002, the press center of AvtoVAZ reported. The cars will be assembled by Lada Egypt. The assembly of AvtoVAZ's cars is organized using the area of one of the existing car assembly plants. In 2002 AvtoVAZ plans to supply 1,488 sets of spare parts along with carburetor engines. In the future, the company plans to increase its spare part supplies to Egypt up to 5,000 sets a year by updating its model range.
